What is a Bereavement Leave in COL?
Bereavement leave in Colombia (COL) for probationary and regular employees is applicable in the event of the death of a close family member, including a spouse or permanent partner, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, grandchild, mother-in-law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, stepchild, or stepparent. Employees are entitled to 5 working days of paid leave. To request this leave, the following documents must be provided and attached to the leave request:
- The employee's birth certificate
- The birth certificate or ID of the deceased person
- The death certificate
These documents are required to ensure proper documentation of the bereavement leave request.
