Colombia Post-Probation/Regularization Period
The Post-Regularization Period begins after a probationary employee successfully completes their 2-month probationary period and is granted regular employment status.
What Happens During This Period?
- Full Benefits and Privileges: You are entitled to all benefits provided by law and the company, such as leave benefits and other perks not available during probation.
- Labor Code Protections: You are protected against unfair labor practices and illegal termination under the Colombia Labor Code.
Ongoing Performance and Development
Even after regularization, your performance and conduct will be evaluated by your manager. The manager may offer further training and support to promote improvement and professional growth. In return, you are expected to uphold high performance and professionalism to maintain your regular employment status.
Evaluation Procedure
- Periodic Performance Reviews: After regularization, managers conduct regular/annual performance evaluations based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Impact on Career Progression: Performance evaluations influence annual performance reviews, promotions, merit increases, and decisions about continued employment. However, these evaluations do not guarantee a salary increase.
- Regular Feedback: Feedback on performance is provided through FiltaHR, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
Performance Improvement Plan (PIP)
If you fail to meet performance standards and receives failed evaluations, you can be placed on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) to address and improve your performance issues.
